Christmas crafters gather for wreath-making

Parents

08 December 2017

On Monday 4 December, members of staff from Prep and Senior School gathered in the hall to try their hand at crafting Christmas wreaths. Starting off with mulled wine and mince pies to get into the festive spirit, staff found their seats and started to create their masterpieces using fresh tree cuttings and holly.

Unfortunately, about 20 minutes into the festivities, the gathering was plunged into darkness when the lights went out! A power outage had turned off lighting in the whole of Westbourne Road, forcing the wreathers to continue their work by torch light. Undeterred, staff continued working on their wreaths, adding decorative items such as pine cones and pompoms, to each create a unique Christmas decoration for their home.

All in all, everyone who attended had a great night full of fun and laughter. Proceeds from this event will go to the Warley Woods Trust in Bearwood. A special thank you to Webbs garden centre in Bearwood for providing the foliage.
