EHS Musician of the Year

27 February 2015

Throughout January and February students from Years 3 to 13 have been auditioning for the 2015 Musician of The Year competition.

Over five hundred EHS pupils have given performances in their music lessons and out of curriculum time. Finalists from each year group have been selected and this evening sees the Prep School finalists competing in the grand final.

The Senior School grand final will take place in the Octagon on Wednesday 11 March, commencing at 4.30pm and parents are very welcome to attend. Finalists will be presenting a wide range of advanced repertoire on their solo instrument or voice, and a number of small ensembles will also be taking part.

For this prestigious occasion, we are delighted to welcome Dr Steve Collisson to EHS as Guest Adjudicator. Dr Collisson is currently Director of Music at Hampstead High School for Girls and was previously Director of Music at King Edwards High School for Girls here in Birmingham. Despite extensive teaching commitments Dr Collisson is an outstanding concert cellist and has worked for many years with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music as an examiner.

All parents are very welcome to attend the EHS Musician of the Year event.

Mr Robson
Director of Music
