In Science Club this week, Year 5 scientists experimented with energy and how it makes things move. They built a racing buggy and powered it using a simple elastic band. It's quite amazing how far you can make it go with a bit of thought.
The girls discovered that the further we stretch an elastic band and the harder we have to pull to stretch it, the more energy we store so the further the buggy goes (if we stop the wheels spinning).
Well done to all teams for working hard to modify their designs before the racing.Special mention to Team 1 as their elastic buggy won the most races!
