Farewell, Year 13

Sixth Form

18 May 2018

Last week, we enjoyed celebrating Year 13’s final week in school before study leave commenced. In a break from the revision and hard work of the last year, it is traditional for this week to be given over to fun and light-heartedness before the girls embark on the A Level examinations ahead - and they did not disappoint.

On Wednesday, girls dressed up as characters from Toy Story - highlights included Mr Slinky, Rex, Buzz Lightyear, Barbie and the aliens from Pizza Planet. Thursday saw a selection of Safari animals and rangers exploring the Sixth Form centre and the rest of the school site. The costumes were once again fantastic and varied, from flamingos to giraffes and zebras, it gave the rest of Senior School the opportunity to try and spot the ‘Big Safari 5’.

Later on Thursday, staff and Sixth Form tutors enjoyed a farewell supper and drinks with Year 13 and their parents in the evening.  Year 13 took the opportunity to thank staff for their support during their time in Sixth Form, as well as taking various selfies to add to their expanding camera roll from the fancy dress days!

On Friday, we welcomed Year 13 into school, dressed in their old school uniform and some girls even managed to wear their Prep summer dresses!  Prior to their final leavers assembly, the girls were joined by staff to enjoy a lovely continental breakfast. All year groups attended the leavers assembly where Year 13 presented their confessions and the memories of school and trips that they have all shared, before performing an entertaining and fun ‘mash-up’ of dancing and singing.

The assembly was a fitting end to their time at EHS. We enjoyed celebrating with them last week and wish them every success with their upcoming examinations.
