Virtual reality school trip with Google Expeditions

04 November 2016

On Wednesday 19 October, the Google Expeditions Team visited the EHS Geography department. Girls from Years 5-13 had the opportunity to experience expeditions to many exciting locations, including under the sea and the moon!

Google Expeditions uses a mobile app and a pair of Google cardboard glasses. From their seats in the classroom the teacher is able to guide the students through many different landscapes they would be otherwise unable to experience. All year groups visited environments which complemented the topics they had been studying in lessons, for example Year 6 visited volcanoes from around the world and Year 7 went to Antarctica.

The girls of all age groups had a fantastic day; many girls commented that the experience was ‘magical’, ‘breath-taking’ and ‘great fun’.
