Hot and Cold Science Week
10 February 2017
We are always keen to inspire the girls’ interest in Science and to extend their scientific knowledge.
This week our Year 4 girls were fascinated to learn about the hottest and coldest temperatures achievable in our Universe.
Dr Maria from the University of Birmingham brought liquid nitrogen into school and shared with us some amazing demonstrations.
A firm favourite was watching an inflated balloon shrink when it was dipped in the liquid nitrogen only to re-inflate as the particles inside warmed up, changing from a liquid to a gas and spread apart once again.
The girls are very keen to learn more about this topic.
