Invaded by Vikings!
12 July 2013
On Tuesday, the pupils in Year 3 were treated to a Viking Day to support their work in History lessons. The day started with the pupils dressing up as Viking boys and girls and then meeting in a replica one-roomed Viking home to learn about Viking family life.
After break, the pupils found out just how useful bone was to the Vikings and tried their hand at some Viking pastimes, such as making wicks for oil lamps and using a Viking drill. In the afternoon the pupils each used a lucet to create their own Viking bracelet then defended the school field as Viking warriors attacked!
