Monet Masterpieces

Year 3 girls have been learning the skills of paint mixing in Art over the last few weeks.
This week they used these skills to recreate their own choice of one of Claude Monet’s paintings during their ‘Monet Day'. For the first time, the year group worked together in the Prep School Art Studio as they focused on their own masterpiece. The first step was to paint the background creating the shades used by Monet.
After the paint had dried the girls had to add the details without drawing in pencil first. To use just a paint brush proved challenging but very worthwhile. The girls produced some beautiful works of art and were proud of their achievements.
