September Sporting Star

29 September 2017

This month’s sporting star award goes to Year 10 pupil Amy Campbell for her outstanding achievements in the recent British Gymnastics Tumbling Championships.

This competition took place last weekend at Liverpool’s Echo Arena. Amy, still a year young in the age group, competed in the age 15-16 year olds category. She has worked hard on her execution this year and this was reflected in her excellent scores over the weekend. As a first year competitor in this group and still only 14 years of age, Amy executed her three passes over the two days with consistency and confidence against some tough competition from older gymnasts. She finished in an amazing 3rd place overall - a fantastic achievement at National Level.

Well done, Amy! We wish her continued success in the coming weeks and will keep our fingers crossed for future selections. The season will be rounded off with the much-anticipated Loulé Cup in Portugal and we look forward to hearing how Amy fares at this international competition.
