Netball success against KEHS and King Henry VIII School

01 December 2017

On Saturday 25 November, EHS played KEHS and King Henry VIII School in a triangular netball fixture. Despite playing in freezing conditions all three teams - U12A, U12B and U16 - performed exceptionally.

The Year 7A team beat KEHS 8-6 with ‘Player of the Match’ being awarded to Sophie McCusker for her strong drives to the circle edge. It was pleasing to see that the centre passes the girls had been working on in training were being used to good effect! The Year 7A team then went on to beat King Henrys 18-3 with ‘Player of the Match’ being awarded to Tea Ilic for her work rate in the attacking circle.

The Year 7B team shared similar successes. They beat KEHS 7-3 in a competitive end-to-end fixture and then went on to beat King Henrys 13-2. Lucille Sutton was awarded ‘Player of the Match’ for both of the games as a result of her motivating and determined personality on the court.

The U16 team, which included girls from Years 8-11 also had a great morning of netball. Despite narrowly losing to a strong KEHS side, they then went on to beat King Henrys 15-6. ‘Player of the Match’ was awarded to Louisa Maynard for her dominance in the defending circle.

Well done, girls!
