Nursery girls celebrate Chinese New Year
02 March 2018
In the week before half term the girls in Nursery celebrated the lead in to Chinese New Year. The staff and parents provided decorations to produce a display in the Nursery foyer which reminded the girls daily of the special event in the calendar for a number of their classmates.
They dressed in red on one day and discovered that this is a special colour to wear. They also enjoyed dancing to Chinese music using coloured ribbons and everyone had the chance to take part in a Chinese Lion dance.
On Friday, the start of Chinese New Year, the girls were treated to a Chinese feast. We are very grateful to the parents who provided a wonderful variety of different foods for the girls to try.
These celebrations helped to mark the start of the Year of the Dog in a special way for our youngest pupils and helped to develop further their understanding of the wider world.
