Prep Girls Hop, Skip and Jump
05 July 2013
Last Friday, the day may have dawned rather on the wet side but our spirits were not dampened and we were determined to go ahead with our planned Sports Days.
In the morning, Years 1 and 2 donned t-shirts in their House colours and headed for the Octagon to start proceedings. There was a buzz of excitement as the girls sat with their House teams and the audience of parents waited in anticipation. They were not disappointed as the girls gave of their best whether jumping, running, skipping or taking part in a variety of relays. The winning House was Nightingale.
In the afternoon Years 3 - 6 headed to the playing fields with fingers crossed for a dry afternoon. We were extremely lucky as the rain held off until just the last two races. The afternoon of sport was a fitting tribute to Mrs Barrick who is retiring at the end of term. Again, there was much determination, support, House spirit and great athletics skills on show. The winning House was Curie and the trophy was awarded on Monday in assembly.
We are grateful to all parents who came to join us during the day.
