09 March 2018

With the unexpected weather at the end of last week we had to postpone several of our events. The Year 1 Bodies Assembly has been rearranged for Tuesday 13 March and we hope everyone will still be able to join us in Prep Hall. Our Prep Young Musician details will follow shortly. We are looking forward to seeing all of our young performers.

We began this week with a review of the Winter Olympics and a look ahead at the Winter Paralympics. We recognised that like us, many of the athletes have to demonstrate resilience, responsibility and resourcefulness.

Girls from Reception to Year 6 have also marked Waste Week with focused assemblies. Parents should not be surprised if girls come home and encourage the reuse and recycling of waste as we looked at the waste statistics for the UK and how we can play our part in helping the environment.

Wednesday saw the departure of Year 4 girls to Culmington Manor in Shropshire, pictured. They arrived in Spring sunshine and enjoyed their first activities of the week. We are all relieved that the weather forecast is much better for the week and we look forward to hearing more of their adventures on their return.

Another special day that was marked in Prep was International Women’s day on Thursday and it has particular significance this year as it is 100 years ago that women earned the right to vote. The girls were encouraged to consider women that they find inspiring.

We end the week wishing our netball squad a successful tour to Portsmouth. We also look forward to seeing many parents at the Dance Show on Thursday and at the EHSPA Prep Party for all girls from Nursery to Year 6 on Friday next week.
