Sioned pens a poetry commission!

04 March 2016

There is a lovely piece of Creative Writing news from the English Department. Sioned in Year 12 has had two of her poems selected to be published as part of an Architecture of Poetry project being held in Scotland. The festival called ‘Stanza’ asked for poetry commissions that celebrated Scottish Landmarks and Sioned wrote two poems. The first poem was inspired by St Peters in Sandwick, Oakley and the second poem was inspired by Mackintosh’s Hill House. Sioned can now call herself a published poet as her poems will be displayed on a big poetry map at the Festival in Scotland. Judges were so impressed with her entries they have also asked if they can use her poems to promote the festival and the activities in Scotland.
