Triple Medal Success for Cross Country Runners

25 September 2015

On Saturday 19 September, Prep and Senior EHS runners were given the opportunity to participate in the Saint Martin's School's Cross Country Relay, the first fixture of the season.

Each team from Year 5, 6, 7 and 8 consisted of four girls who had to complete two circuits of the course equating to approximately 1,200m each in a relay format. The circuit included a steep uphill section to test the girls' grit and determination.

Year 5 girls, Julia, Emilia, Jaya and Priya ran exceptionally well to take the silver medal. Year 6 girls, Charlotte, Lauren, Lucy and Imogen also ran very well to take a bronze medal. This was replicated with the Year 7 girls, Imogen, Ellie, Megan, Amber and Zara taking a bronze medal. Year 8 girls, Amy, Freya, Rita and Lucy also faced tough competition but were placed a respectable 6th.

A huge well done to all of the girls who competed at the cross country event, and a big thank you to all the parents who came along to support and encourage the girls.
