Wasps International player delivers netball masterclass

28 April 2017

On Thursday 26th April, a group of EHS Netballers were fortunate enough to meet South African Wasps International netball player, Bongiwe Msomi.

Bongiwe started the morning in the Preparatory School where the Year 5 and 6 Netball squads were eagerly anticipating her arrival. The girls received a fantastic coaching session, focusing on fundamental skills to implement into their game play. The session finished with an exciting shooting competition where each team had to compete under pressure in order to win points!

After break, Bongiwe moved to Senior School where she delivered a technical session on how to reach the circle edge as an attacker. The girls found this session extremely useful and cannot wait to try out their new tactics in the next school fixture. After the session had finished the girls were provided with an opportunity to ask Bongiwe any questions about Netball; everyone was shocked to discover that Bongiwe was 16 years old when she first started playing. Hopefully this fact will inspire many of our Netballers to train hard and, who knows, they may become Wasps Netball stars of the future!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Bongiwe for taking time out of her busy schedule to visit EHS. The girls loved meeting their Netball idol and we hope to continue working with Wasps Netball in the future.
