Year 2 Travel Back in Time

16 October 2015

Year 2 took a step back in time to 1666 to extend their learning about the Great Fire of London. The girls dressed up in costumes and got into character by becoming apprentice crafts people. They experienced the jobs of various tradespeople of the period: bakers, tanners, chandlers, barber surgeons, metal workers and more.

In the afternoon the girls further developed their historical enquiry skills by carrying out an archaeological dig to discover more about the people whose lives were changed by the Great Fire. The day was made possible by the many parents who came in to help run the workshops.
