Zumbathon for Sport Relief 2016

24 March 2016

As part of our School fundraising for charity, all departments from Nursery through to Sixth Form took part in a Sponsored Zumbathon for Sports Relief earlier this week.

On Monday, Nursery and Kindergarten girls kicked off the two-day event at 9.35am. They thoroughly enjoyed their 20 minute Zumba session with our visiting Zumba instructor, Sharon. Throughout the day, Reception and then each Prep year group made their way across to the School gym, dressed in P.E. kits ready for their 20 minutes of Zumba fun. Even their teachers got in on the action! The day ended with EHS staff participation, and a very tired Zumba instructor!

The next day, we embarked on Zumbathon Round Two with girls from Years 7 to 13 joining in the dance fun and trying out their newly acquired Zumba moves. The School corridor came alive with the latest pop tunes filtering out from the gym.

Each girl paid £2 to take part, with the total amount raised so far of £1,000 going to Sport Relief 2016. The two-day event was an enjoyable and healthy way to raise money for a very worthwhile charity. Our thanks go to a very energetic Mrs Batchelor who not only organised the event, but also took part enthusiastically in every session, complete with Sport Relief T-shirt and Deeley Boppers!
