Recognised as the world's leading achievement for young people, the Duke of Edinburgh's programme is a real adventure from beginning to end.
Girls have the opportunity to take the programme at three levels - Bronze, Silver or Gold - which leads to a Duke of Edinburgh Award. Girls achieve an Award by completing a personal programme of activities in four sections (five for those taking their Gold Award).
Activities include volunteering, personal physical fitness, developing existing talents, trying something new, planning, training and completing an expedition, or staying and working away from home as part of a team.
Senior School girls aged 14-17 (Year 10 upwards) can enrol to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award which is run by staff in School. Girls begin with the Bronze Award and are introduced to the Award's key areas (Service, Skills, Physical recreation, Expedition and Residential project) and how undertaking activity in each contributes not just to society but to their own personal development.
