Performing Arts

All girls are encouraged to get involved in the many opportunities offered in theatre and performing arts.

Though Drama and Dance are available as courses of study for public examinations in Senior School, the opportunity to continue to participate exists for all girls even if they have not chosen the exam option.

LAMDA course are available after School and both Junior and Senior Youth Theatre runs weekly. In addition, the nationally-recognised Arts Award was introduced in 2007-08.

Senior School also holds a biennial Dance Show which showcases talent from all age groups and offers the School's Dance Captain the opportunity to organise, mentor and choreograph work in collaboration with Staff.

Each year the Senior School holds a major production. Auditions are open to all girls and the School welcomes the participation of as many girls as possible on stage and behind the scenes. EHS is most fortunate to have the multi-purpose Octagon as a venue for drama and dance and since its opening in 2005 it has witnessed performances of 'Oliver!', 'Grease', 'The Wind in the Willows', 'The Sound of Music', and 'Kindertransport'.
