Languages and Literature Day 2018

On Wednesday, 14 February 2018, Edgbaston High School for Girls will host an exciting day to promote and celebrate Languages and Literature and to showcase the numerous career opportunities within this creative field.

The event is aimed at students in Years 9 and 10 and will include an impressive array of guests and keynote speakers, including Joanne Harris, author of numerous critically-acclaimed novels including ‘Chocolat’, and the best-selling writer, comedian and actress Meera Syal.

Over the course of the day each delegate will participate in two themed workshops from leading experts in their field. In addition, there will be an opportunity for delegates to visit a University and Careers Fair featuring prominent universities and business organisations who will showcase the opportunities that are available to students.
We envisage that the day will run from 9.15am to approximately 3.45pm - exact timings to be confirmed. Please note that this event is open to girls only.

This exciting Languages and Literature initiative follows our highly successful Humanities Day in 2017 at which we were delighted to welcome Sir Ranulph Fiennes, and promises to be a fantastically inspiring event for your students - and teachers too! We expect tickets to sell out for this event so book now to guarantee your place.
