Physical Education

EHS has a reputation for excellence in sport and Physical Education has always been considered an important feature of the curriculum and of the extracurricular programme

Health and fitness and team skills are emphasised as girls progress through the School; the provision of excellent facilities and experienced teaching results in many girls being selected to play at county, regional and national level.

Within the School's fourteen-acre site is a heated indoor swimming pool, large gymnasium, a state-of-the-art fitness suite catering for all ability levels, an all-weather surface for hockey, netball and tennis, an athletics track and cricket square. Girls are also given the opportunity to try many other sporting activities, including badminton, fencing, football, lacrosse, lifeguarding and rock climbing.

Match fixtures take place after school or on Saturdays and in recent years the hockey and netball teams have toured Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
