Teacher of Textiles - For September 2024
Edgbaston High school is delighted to invite applicants for a full-time position of Teacher of Textiles from September 2024.
We are seeking an outstanding and talented teacher of textiles who is able to inspire our girls with a love of textile and support their academic progression and personal
development. The successful candidate is likely to be a graduate in Fashion or Textiles, and they will need to be comfortable teaching Textiles from key stage 3 up to and
including A Level, to academically able young people. You must have a thorough understanding of Textiles both in and beyond the classroom.
Textiles is a very popular subject within the school and is well resourced. All staff are fully supported in their professional development and applications are encouraged
from either experienced teachers or ECTs.
Early application is actively encouraged.
This role will be full time from September 2024.

the unique opportunity for the right candidate to not only shape the future of music education across Years 1 to 13 but also to potentially step into a leadership role as
Deputy Director of Music.
This pivotal role aims to attract an individual who possesses a profound understanding of music's role in education and personal development, coupled with the skills and
enthusiasm to lead by example alongside the essential skill of playing the piano. The ability to accompany students on the piano during classes, rehearsals, and performances
is a critical aspect of the job, serving as a foundation for our dynamic music program. The ideal candidate will be someone looking to grow their career, taking on
responsibilities that stretch beyond the classroom to include contributing strategically to the development of our music department and its offerings.

Interested in training to be a teacher?
EHS is a member of the King Edward’s Consortium (KEC), a group of 23 schools in the Birmingham and Solihull areas who work together to train graduate secondary-school teachers. The group is the number-one school-centred initial teacher training (SCITT) provider in the country (The Good Teacher Training Guide, 2017).
If you become a KEC trainee, you’ll be in school from day one, and treated as a member of staff. As well as teaching your subject, you’ll be a form tutor and contribute to wider school life. For five weeks at the start of the spring term, you’ll also have a second, shorter placement in a contrasting school. Find out more. KEC website
