An Unforgettable Glamp 7
22 September 2023
The weather forecast may have been mixed but our enthusiasm was not – Year 7’s excitement for Glamp 7 was immense.
Tuesday came, and the students piled into the gym to be given their festival lanyard and activity group name. On arrival at the field, audible gasps could be heard as girls opened their tents to find them beautifully kitted out with beds, fluffy duvets and cushions. Each bed was adorned with a Glamp 7 t-shirt, socks, eye mask and flower garlands.
The sun came out and students completed their first tent challenge to the sounds of the 80s’ best hits! Soon after, they completed their second tent challenge to the sound of festival party tracks. Next, the girls took part in an array of activities such as assault courses, archery, laser tag, crazy golf and a giant inflatable whack-a -mole game.
We all excitedly looked forward to further tent challenges including a Dance Challenge and a mammoth raffle ticket egg hunt. A delicious pizza party and camp fire preceded settling down into the fairy-light bell-tents – a chance to get to know newly made ‘tent friends’ and share their tuck shop delights.
Thursday morning started with pain au chocolat before another full day of activities including a climbing wall, archery and Team Challenges. A range of delicious food options such as waffles, doughnuts and pizza kept energy levels high enough to take on all the fun activities which included a 'Big Quiz' where they had the opportunity to answer questions on a diverse range of topics from Politics to Food.
Movie Night was a big hit as students danced and sang along to High School Musical – the glow sticks added to the atmosphere and the Magnum ice creams went down a treat.
It was clear that the Class of 2030 had bonded and begun to build foundations for what will inevitably become lifelong friendships.
