Pastoral care for happiness and wellbeing

Just like you, we want your child to feel happy and secure in school. When she genuinely enjoys her time here, she will learn more and develop faster – both academically and personally. This is why we place so much emphasis on pastoral care, with all members of staff playing a part in the girls’ wellbeing.

All our teachers know their pupils as individuals. So they can identify strengths, focus on areas needing extra attention, and structure learning accordingly. We encourage girls to talk about any problems or concerns they might have, and we deal with them swiftly and sensitively. We also look after physical health as well as mental and emotional wellbeing: we have a school doctor, and our qualified nurse works on site as an integral part of the staff team.

Central to the pastoral care we provide is the open communication we maintain with all our parents. We keep you informed of your child’s progress, and you can ask us anything. If her form teacher doesn’t have the answer, the Head of Prep and Deputy Heads will be very happy to help.

"Pupils in all year groups have an excellent standard of personal development and this is strongly supported by excellent pastoral care."
