Libraries at EHS offer a traditional place of learning and reflection alongside keeping up-to-date with new resources in print and electronic formats.

In Senior School, the Library, located on the first floor, is central to the life and work of the School. It is staffed by a qualified Librarian with support from part-time assistants, including members of the Sixth Form.  The Library is open from 8am for the whole of the school day, until 5.30pm.  It is expected that pupils will work quietly and independently at all times, with support from Library staff.

A range of up-to-date printed and electronic resources are provided for all girls and staff. Three thousand printed novels are complimented by a growing collection of ebooks on the Overdrive platform.  Library iPads, PCs and laptops are available for pupils to complete their work and to access the Library database (Eclipse), using iMLS app. with mobile technologies. Access to the Library database is also available from a link on the Homepage.  The Link to RMUnify, within Pupil Login (also on the Homepage), enables girls to make use of Library ‘e’ resources such as Britannica School.

Reading guidance from the Librarian is available from booklists and Library social media accounts: Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest, currently.

The Senior School Library supports the whole school policy of using natural resources wisely and requires girls to ‘think before they print’.
