A Taste of the Rainforest
05 July 2013
On Thursday, Year 4 girls enjoyed a Rainforest Day. They were engaged in a range of craft activities including making macaw masks, bromeliad plants, sun catcher tigers and they used their origami skills to make jumping frogs.
In ICT, girls in 4O created rainforest collages using rainforest photographs. All of the girls constructed their own tropical fruit kebabs and ate them with enthusiasm, whilst learning interesting facts about pineapples, bananas and mangos.
The day was rounded off with a fascinating talk, film and slide show from Mr Duxbury. He shared his own adventures in the rainforest. The girls were told lots of survival techniques but decided they enjoyed their home comforts more!
