the weekly newsletter from Dr Ruth Weeks, Headmistress
25 October 2013
On Friday 18 October, pupils in Year 5 were treated to a presentation by Birmingham Children's Hospital Consultant Mr Kuo.
The girls had very much enjoyed learning about hearing and ear care as part of their Science lessons, so the talk was a great opportunity to extend their knowledge. As well as giving the girls a valuable insight into his work as an ENT consultant, Mr Kuo had many fascinating facts and animations of the ear to present. Towards the end of the talk, there was an opportunity for the girls to ask Mr Kuo their questions.
We were also proud to present hearing and ear care leaflets that the Year 5 girls had researched and made in class. Mr Kuo was so impressed with the work again this year that
he has agreed to display the leaflets in his clinic and show them to his patients at Birmingham Children's Hospital.
The visit was an inspiring experience for pupils and staff. Many thanks to Mr Kuo for taking the time to talk to our girls.
