Choirs come together at Birmingham University
29 April 2016
On Saturday 23 April, the choirs of Edgbaston School joined with the Birmingham Icknield Male Voice Choir to perform a special St George’s Day concert at the Elgar Concert Hall, part of the Bramall Music Building at Birmingham University.
The choirs from both the Prep and Senior School performed a range of songs as well as a massed choral item, ‘Look to this day’ in the second half of the concert. The students, from all year groups, very much enjoyed their contribution to this very special event and being given the opportunity to perform in one of the UK’s best concert halls.
I have been delighted with the response from the audience, parents and professional musicians to our girls’ performances in this event; they have certainly represented Edgbaston School in the best possible way.
I would like to thank the students for generously giving up their own time on Saturday and for their hard work this term in rehearsals. I would also like to thank Mrs Stocks, Mrs Howell, Mrs Ehiogu and our fantastic Choir Master, Miss Vango, for all of their hard work and support in making this event possible.
