Year 3 Learn From the Lickey Hills
17 June 2016
Last Friday Year 3 enjoyed an action packed visit to the Lickey Hills. Under the guidance of a park ranger they explored the different habitats and learnt about the fauna and flora of the area. They were amazed to discover the age of some of the oak trees. They particularly enjoyed hearing the story of the ‘Green Man’ and how he was believed to control the seasons in the past.
The girls were able to use their practical mathematics skills to calculate the cost of items in the gift shop and to work out the change. They measured the perimeter of the playground area before enjoying some time on the playground equipment. They especially enjoyed the zip wire!
