Year 4's Residential Trip to Culmington Manor
18 March 2016
After lunch on Monday 7 March, 46 eager, if slightly nervous, Year 4 girls left for a two-night stay at Culmington Manor in Shropshire. They arrived in brilliant sunshine and were shown to their dorms where, to their delight, there were bunk beds.
After a quick tour of the site the four groups began their activities immediately. After a well-deserved evening meal, they were really excited to find themselves doing more activities including climbing, attempting the confidence course and trying initiative exercises in the dark! (Well, there were obviously floodlights on!)
On Tuesday morning they were all taken to the beautiful Cardingmill Valley for a long hill walk to the waterfall.
The rest of the stay was spent at the Manor where they learnt survival skills, played wide games and got extremely muddy on the obstacle course.
It was challenging but great fun. Everyone stepped outside their comfort zone and all experienced a feeling of pride in their achievements.
