A-Level Studies

There are several different pathways students choose to take at EHS. Most students take three A-level subjects in Year 1 alongside one other option such as Core Mathematics or the Extended Project Qualification, and then continue with the three subjects into Year 2 of the course. Some students choose to study an additional AS or full A-level.

There are minimum grade requirements for individual subjects. This is usually a 6 or above in the subjects you are intending to study at AS-level with some exceptions, notably Mathematics and Modern Foreign Languages, for which higher grades are needed.

Not surprisingly, the higher your achievement at GCSE the greater your chance of gaining a higher grade at A-level.

The vast majority of students who go on to achieve the higher grades at A-level will have achieved a 7, 8 or 9 in those subjects at GCSE.
