Another Successful Macmillan Cake Sale
07 October 2016
On Friday, 30 September the smell of cake filled the halls in Senior School as the Sixth Form prepared for the annual Macmillan Coffee Morning. Girls, staff and friends of the school came together to enjoy a cup of coffee and a cake and to raise money for the Macmillan Cancer Trust. There was a wide selection of delicious baked goods on offer including cupcakes, muffins, brownies and the classic Victoria sponge – all provided by the generous Year 12 and Year 13 girls; we also had cakes kindly provided by some eager Year 7 bakers!
In addition to consuming copious amounts of cake, once again there was the popular raffle, in which the prizes included a giant cupcake skilfully crafted by Mrs Harris, artisan cupcakes and a teddy bear donated by Nadia Ismail in Year 13.
The event was a happy occasion in support of a worthwhile cause that is close to the heart of the School. Thanks must go to the Year 7, Year 12 and Year 13 bakers and the Sixth Form Charity Reps: Jordan Coleman, Amelia Sanders, Mya Roberts and Muryam Bibi.
