EHS Finalists at Prestigious Sports Awards

The EHS U14 Gymnasts team were thrilled to have been nominated as finalists in the Birmingham Post's Sports Awards 2013.

The awards ceremony promoted the very best that sport can bring to a community on a local and regional level. There were 12 categories up for nomination which were as follows:

1. Sportsman of the Year
2. Sportswoman of the Year
3. Team of the Year
4. Club of the Year
5. Manager/Coach of the Year
6. Under 19 School Team of the Year
7. Young Sportsman of the Year (12-18)
8. Young Sportswoman of the Year (12-18)
9. Junior Sportsperson of the Year (under 12)
10. Volunteer of the Year
11. Community Award
12. Lifetime Achievement Award

Following a very successful season last year, our U14 gym team was nominated and were finalists in the Under 19 Team of the Year award - a very well deserved nomination.

Dr Weeks, Mrs Batchelor, Mrs Evans, Mrs Hewison and Mrs Spear all attended the award evening on Tuesday 17 September along with some of the members of the successful gym squad. EHS were placed runner up in the group receiving a lovely trophy and certificates for all the girls.

A great night was had by all and we are aiming to be winners next year!
