Race for Life

27 May 2016

On Wednesday 25 May, Edgbaston High School were out in force supporting a cause close to their hearts: Race for Life at Cannon Hill Park. Students, parents, members of Council and teachers all ran the 5K to raise money for Cancer Research. Millie Berry, in Year 9, and her Mum made a terrific effort as did Amina Khan, Layla Foster and Ria Mistry in Year 7, all dressed in pink. Miss Roye, Miss Jacks, Mrs Stocks and Mrs Batchelor drew lots of attention from other runners and the Birmingham Mail as they were dressed in inflatable unicorn costumes.  These not only caused quite a stir but also proved tricky to run in.

Congratulations to Mrs Chalmers, Mrs Johnson, Mrs England-Kerr and Mrs Hewison who all ran the race competitively, Mrs Hewison finishing a very impressive fourth in the event overall. Well done to the other teachers: Mrs Lee, Mrs Norman, Mrs Lampard, Ms Ajmal, Mrs Lynch, Mrs Hughes, Miss Hayday and Miss O'Hare who walked the 5K and our four trotting unicorn teachers.

It was a great effort supporting an important cause. Well done to all involved!
