Students Attend Further Maths Conference
06 March 2015
On Friday 27 February, four Year 12 mathematicians, Sahnia Ahmed, Rebecca Presswood, BingXuan Wang and Beatrice Williams, attended the Further Mathematics Conference at King Edward VI Camp Hill Girls School.
The programme of events included presentations given by leading Mathematics lecturers and teaching staff of Camp Hill School. The keynote presentation was 'tricks, symmetry, puzzles and prisoners: a whistle stop tour of group theory and permutations' by Dr Simon Goodwin, University of Birmingham. The girls really enjoyed learning about the mathematics of google and had 'fun with Euler'.
The conference has inspired them to consider studying Mathematics related degrees at University.
