Textiles take London!
23 September 2016
Early on Saturday morning the Year 11 Textiles group, accompanied by Miss Cummings and Mrs Mooney, set off to London with the aim of finding inspiration to help with our controlled assessments.
We got off the train, headed to the tube and then joined the queue for the Natural History Museum. After an hour of exploring and researching, we regrouped and walked next door to the Victoria and Albert Museum. We all found inspiration from the Fashion Through the Ages exhibition and took pictures to help with the progress of our personal designs.
With a group of hungry girls we made our way to Covent Garden where we dispersed to get some lunch. Now full of energy and guided by our personal tour guide, a very excited Mrs Mooney, we took the side streets, passing all the expensive fabric shops to get to the world famous Liberty. We were provided with a wealth of ideas, and even explored the highly anticipated Christmas shop!
At the end of the trip, we managed to cram in a bit of shopping on Oxford Street including the flagship Topshop and Urban Outfitters stores. With all our shopping bags we made our way to Euston to catch our train home to Birmingham.
We all enjoyed the trip very much and would like to thank Miss Cummings and Mrs Mooney for organising it and taking us.
