Strong show at business competition

17 March 2017

On Friday 10 May, six girls from Year 12 took part in BASE, the National Business and Accounting competition run by the Institute for Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

The event, held at Edgbaston Cricket Ground, requires students to engage in a business challenge that enables them to develop key employability skills and understand what it’s like to be an ICAEW Chartered Accountant.

They worked on a task with the help of a business mentor who, coincidently, was an EHS Old Girl. They then had to present their proposals to a panel of judges in front of an audience of over 100 people. Four out of 16 teams made it through to the final stage and had to present again; the EHS team fended off strong opposition from other schools to make it through to the final stage.

We are delighted with the girls’ performance! Well done to Laura, Sharika, Martha, Aliya, Reena, Laura and thank you to Mrs Norman for taking the girls on the trip.
