Perfect Music for a Summer's Evening

12 June 2015

The annual Prep School's Summer Concert took place on Wednesday evening to a packed audience.

The items mainly showcased ensemble work that takes place in the Prep School each week and showed just how well the girls work together especially as many of the groups involve pupils from Years 3 - 6. We were treated to performances from the orchestra, guitar group, brass group, recorder group and string ensemble. We were also entertained by the Lower and Upper Junior Choirs.

Two extra groups which played featured Flute and Friends and a performance of 'Trombono the Bad' which ended with the trombonist playing whilst lying on the floor!

Our one solo performance of the evening was from Megan, the Prep Young Musician of the Year, who played 'Waltz' on the clarinet.

The standard of playing and singing demonstrated the wealth of talent amongst our Prep musicians and it was clear that the girls also really enjoy their activities.

Our thanks to the Music staff for their hard work in preparing the girls.
