Under 16 Netball Success

07 October 2016

On Wednesday 5 October our U16 netball squad played in the Birmingham Schools Tournament.  Despite several teams pulling out last minute, 5 strong netball teams took part in the tournament- the winners and runners up progressing to the West Midlands Schools Tournament in January.

Our U16 team played fantastically well, beating KEHS 6-3, King Edwards Handsworth 6-3 and Camphill 9-6.  The deciding match to establish the winners and runners up of this year’s tournament was against Kings Norton Girls.  EHS narrowly lost by two goals ending their winning streak and coming 2nd overall in the tournament.  The team will now go on to represent Birmingham Schools in the West Midlands regional tournament in January 2017.

Congratulations to the U16 team members; Molly Bohl (Captain), Eryna Kisumba, Zoe Craver, Heather Crombie, Mia Fowler, Mary Polding, Layla Chishti, Alice Johnson, Louisa Maynard and Rosie Butts.  We wish them every success with the tournament and look forward to hearing all about it in January.
