Leaving their legacy
12 May 2017
Before embarking on study leave, the outgoing Year 13 Leadership Team decided that they would like to leave a legacy to the school in the form of a new award, the Legacy Cup.
This cup is awarded to celebrate the acts that go largely unacknowledged by other school cups, awards and trophies. It is awarded to a person, or a group of people, who have taken it upon themselves to do something either in school or in the world beyond which others have found particularly supportive, helpful, kind, charitable or inspirational.
Each Senior School form group was asked to nominate a member of their group who they knew had given above and beyond what was expected of them.
The leadership team of Head Girl Bethany Lucas and Deputy Head Girls Beatrice Kessedjian and Malala Yousafzai, had a hard task in selecting a winner from all of the worthy nominees. Several girls were highly-commended but overall the winner and recipient of the Legacy Cup is Year 11 student Lydia Diwakar.
Well done to all of the nominees, a record of which will be kept in a commemorative Legacy Book. As part of the Legacy initiative, Lydia will work with the new Leadership Team in academic year 2017-18 to help select the future Legacy Cup recipient.
