Busy Allotment Open Day

On Sunday 23 June, The EHS allotment was opened to parents and girls for a working party! We also had community volunteers offering a helping hand from Goodgym Birmingham. It was a busy time for all. The girls completed a scavenger Hunt while all the beds were given a good weed and the hedges were given a good haircut. We then had a well-earned break for tea and cake in the Guinea Garden Bothy.

Cake was followed by hunting for potatoes in the potato beds. Parents and their girls planted lots of beans and pumpkins ready for harvesting in September.

The allotment was a real hive of activity. Can we please pass on a huge thank you to all families that came to help out. It really was much appreciated. Having a tidy space allows all the girls at EHS the opportunity to enjoy this idyllic space with their form teachers; from going down to do some pond dipping to just looking for signs of the different seasons.

A huge thank you to Sabreena, Steve and Christine who keep this beautiful space alive for the whole school community to enjoy.
