Co-curricular activities to build confidence and creativity
Throughout your child’s time with us, we encourage her to get involved in as many activities as possible outside the classroom. We believe the opportunities to learn essential life skills increase with every new experience – and we make these opportunities available through a wide range of co-curricular activities, keeping girls busy at lunchtimes and after school.
The aim is to take part in pursuits that explore and develop each girl’s talents, teach them new skills and test their initiative. They are also a good way for younger girls to get to know the Sixth Form students who organise many of the activities, mainly through clubs and societies, covering everything from arts and sciences to sports, dance and drama.
Your daughter can join as many of these as she wants. Plus, we have groups for debating and public speaking, and offer opportunities to take part in the Young Enterprise and Duke of Edinburgh’s Award schemes. Other choices include the Technical Crew, where girls learn audio-visual, sound and lighting techniques to help with school productions, and the Gardening Club, where they can help tend our allotment.
You can find out more about all the co-curricular activities we offer in our Co-curricular Guide:
We offer many fantastic opportunities for the girls at Edgbaston High to broaden their horizons and see the world.
Whether it's learning outside the classroom on a day trip, heading off on a residential or embarking on an overseas trip to a far-flung location, pupils can choose from a vast range of enriching experiences.
