EHS essay competition
19 May 2017
Thank you very much to everyone who entered our annual essay competition. This year’s theme was Humanities and pupils were asked to choose from a selection of titles, research their subject and then submit a 1,500 word essay.
One of our main aims at EHS is to inspire a love of learning and a curiosity to find out more about a topic or subject. We value highly the skills of independent study and provide opportunities for pupils to develop these from Year 7 not only through our essay competition but also through the Higher Project in Year 9 and the Extended Project in the Sixth Form, both optional qualifications which girls always gain much from.
Mrs Rees thoroughly enjoyed reading all of this year’s entries and would like to congratulate everyone who took part; it was very clear that a lot of wider reading had been undertaken. The winners of the competition will be announced at our end of term assembly and their prizes will also be awarded then.
Well done to everyone who entered!
