Homes in History
24 October 2014
After studying modern homes and caves so far this half term, Year 1 spent Wednesday afternoon finding out more about Celtic roundhouses.
They watched a short film clip of a roundhouse being made and explored inside using the BBC Schools website. Then each girl made her own roundhouse, using card and collage materials with paint to complete the roof.
Each class then arranged their individual roundhouses together, with a fence all the way around, to make a hill fort.
The girls are now looking forward to studying castles after the break, including a visit to Tamworth Castle.
