Houses Gearing Up for The Gala

Last week, the new House Captains and Deputies took the opportunity to introduce themselves and the ‘House System’ to the school during a special House Assembly. The girls have been in position since the middle of last term, managing the Bake Off, Sports Day and House Musical. However, this term, it’s the biggest of the House Events, The Gala.
At the end of this term, each house team will have choreographed the whole of their house, 100+ girls, into a dance showcase. The Gala theme this year is girl bands/boy bands, with each house being allocated a girl band and a boy band to feature at random.
During the assembly, the Captains also reminded the girls of the all-important House Point system. Separate to merits, which reward outstanding academic work, House Points are awarded for any contributions to school life and participating in activities. At the end of the year, the House with the most points will be awarded the House Cup!
