Macmillan Coffee Morning
04 October 2013
On Friday 27 September, EHS held yet another successful coffee morning in aid of the Macmillan Cancer Trust. This is a day every year which is hotly anticipated by all students and staff alike: the chance to indulge in as much cake as you want and for a good cause!
The Macmillan Coffee Morning is an event held in schools and organisations across the country and all donations made go towards the MacMillan Cancer Trust. The Trust is a very worthwhile cause and the money raised helps thousands of people to cope with the challenges of cancer.
The days leading up to the coffee morning were filled with excitement as many girls and staff baked everything from muffins to cakes, which were later very much appreciated by all. We were especially grateful for the four cakes that were raffled off, expertly baked by Miss O'Hare, Jenny Ralston, Polly Bowden and Leena Medani. We also made money from selling the very popular chocolate fountain which was prepared by Abbie England Kerr and Maya Abbas.
Overall, EHS hosted a fabulous morning which was enjoyed by all who attended. We raised an amazing £848.33. Now we have exactly 12 months to perfect our baking skills for next year!
