Music in the Morning

Preparatory

07 June 2024

Each term during the year, girls in Years 3 – 6 have the chance to perform in a Teatime Concert. This week it was the turn of our younger musicians from Year 2 who treated us to some ‘Music in the Morning’ and certainly helped to brighten up a slightly grey day outside.

We are very proud of the girls who all performed their solo pieces confidently to an audience of parents, teachers, siblings and pupils from Reception, Years 1 and 2. It was hard to believe from the assurance they showed that this was the first time they had played for an audience as they introduced the pieces they were playing and then took a bow to the applause.

This informal recital was a great way for our young musicians to start their musical journey and we look forward to following their progress in the years to come.

Our Advanced Prep Ensemble completed the morning. Davica, Jessica and Eliza played ‘When You Wish Upon a Star’ on piano, violin and flute which demonstrated the fun you can have working together.

Our Music in the Morning Recital will have inspired many of the other girls to take up an instrument we are sure.
