Meet the Incoming Head of Prep and Pre-Prep

Preparatory

24 May 2024

We are delighted to announce that Mrs Nina Hobson will be Edgbaston High School’s new Head of Pre-Prep and Prep, taking up the role in September 2024 following Mrs Hartley's retirement at the end of this term.

Mrs Hobson is joining us from RGS Dodderhill where she is currently Head of Prep and Pre-Prep. Prior to this, she was at RGS The Grange, and King’s St Alban’s, Worcester; she has also worked for the BBC directing and producing television drama and factual programmes.

Mrs Macro commented: “As an experienced senior leader and passionate educator, Nina has a wealth of experience from the early years to key stage 2 and she recognises the importance of building strong relationships with all members of the school community. I have absolute confidence that Nina’s warmth, clear vision and dynamism makes her the perfect choice to continue to develop our already outstanding Prep and Pre-Prep departments.”

Mrs Hobson said: "I am thrilled to have been appointed as Edgbaston High School’s Head of Pre-Prep and Prep. It is such a fantastic school and I cannot wait to work with the incredible team of caring and dedicated staff who I met during the interview process. I bring with me a passion for academic rigour and a desire to continue with the broad range of co-curricular opportunities that makes an all-girls education so unique. I am so excited about meeting the pupils and their families and I look forward to working with Clare Macro to build on the fantastic successes of Sally Hartley."

There will be many opportunities in the second half of this term to thank Mrs Hartley for her outstanding service to the community, and we will write to parents about this in due course.
