A Celebration of Music at the Prep Teatime Concert

Preparatory

28 March 2025

On Wednesday, 20 March, the Octagon was filled with the sound of music as Year 5 and 6 pupils, along with four talented performers from Years 3 and 4, took to the stage for our latest Teatime Concert. This delightful event showcased a remarkable variety of musical styles and instruments, highlighting the enthusiasm, dedication, and progress of our young musicians.

The evening featured an impressive range of performances, from the resonant tones of the dilruba and the shimmering sounds of the guzheng to expressive violin and flute solos. The energy of the drum kit, the charm of our singers, and the warmth of guitar and piano pieces added further depth to the programme. Each performance was a true reflection of the girls’ hard work and commitment to their musical journey.

A special mention must go to those who opened the concert before dashing off to represent the school at a swimming gala, an incredible display of dedication to both music and sport!

Mr Skilbeck shared his appreciation, saying "I would like to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to making this concert such a success. From the dedicated staff who accompanied and supported the girls, to those who managed logistics, photography, and technical elements, your hard work is truly appreciated. The passion and commitment of our Music Department continue to inspire, and it is a privilege to witness the progress of our young musicians."

Congratulations to all the girls who performed, it was a fantastic celebration of music, talent, and perseverance. Well done!
